This book explores the particularities of spiritual autobiography in the Eastern Orthodox space, including case studies focused on John of Kronstadt, Siloane the Athonite and Nikolai Berdyaev.

It draws on a range of sources and provides a sophisticated and nuanced idea of autobiography. The author considers why there are not as many spiritual autobiographies in the Eastern Orthodox tradition in comparison to Catholic and Protestant, and shows that despite fewer works there is a thematic diversity and rich message amongst the authors. The book emphasises the practical relevance of spiritual autobiography for pastoral and daily life. It will be of particular interest to scholars of Orthodox Christianity and Christian spirituality.
